Sept 28 1857 Meeting called to order of District No 9
Peter Whitbeck called to the chair
Moved and secconed that the acount of John Silvernail be allowed witch is five
dollars and Moved and Seconded that Alford White serve as Moderator for the
insuing year and caried Moved and seconded that George Brewster serve as
Director for the ensuing year. caried Moved and seconded that John
Silvernail serve as asseser for the ensuing year and carried
Moved and seconded that there shall be one dollar tax to the Schollar be rased
and carried
Moved and seconded that the Director have three dollars this was cared.
Moved and seconded that we raise eighten dollars for repairing schoolhous and
other expenses. Caried
Moved and seconded that whe have a woman teacher this winter. Move and
seconded that the District pay Missus Welchs school tax. Carried.
Moved and seconded that whe ajourn this meeting to the next anuell
meeting. Carried. Moved and seconded that whe raise eleven shilings
to pay for hur inspecting of Naincy M Canter Cared
Nov 25 1857
At a special meeting of School district No 9 called to consider the propriety
of adopting culture maps in the school and of raising money for their
purchase. The meeting was called to order by the moderator.
On motion of GH Brewster it was resolved to adopt Mitchels Culture maps
and to raise ten dollars on the taxable property of the district for the
purchase of the same

Drew an order on township treasury to teach winter school thirteen weeks for
two dollars per week.

Paid Miss Julia Dod thirteen dollars and seventy cents being the amount due on
contract for teaching last summer
Drew an order on township treasurer twenty dollars in favor of Marion
Cormann in payment of her wages as teacher
Jan 27 Drew order on town treasury in favor of GH Brewster in payment for his
fee as Director for three dollars
Feb 24th
Drew order on town treasurer in favor of John Silvernail in payment for repairs
on school house and of Mrs. Welch's school bill for last summer amounting to
three dollars and five cents also one in favor of Marion Corman in payment of
wages as teacher
May 3rd 1858
Made contract with E.K. Fowler to teach summer school sixteen weeks for $2.50
per week.
May 18
Director and assesor met and appointed Laman Dart to fill vacancy occasioned by
the removal from the district of Marcus White late moderator and he filed his
acceptance with the Director
Drew order on Township treasurer for ten dollars in favor of EK Fowler in
payment of his wages as teacher
Sept 7th
Paid E K Fowler $14.73 in payment of his wages of teacher of summer school
The district Board of district No nine of the township of Pittsford submit
the following report for the school year ending Sept 27th 1858
The whole amount of tax raised on property of district was $52.76 for the

At the annual meeting of school district No nine held at the schoolhouse on
Monday Sept 27th 1858. The moderator not being present James Roberts was appointed
moderator for the meeting. Report of district board read by director, On
motion of John Silvernail James Roberts was elected Moderator for the ensuing
year. Peter Whitbeck was elected director and William Wilder
assessor. Voted to raise one dollar on a scholar in the district for
support of school being forty two dollars
Voted to raise three dollars for service of director
Voted to raise three dollars for repair on school house. Voted to pay GH
Brewster thirty one cents for things furnished for school house, Voted to raise
four dollars for the purchase of Websters Unabridged Dictionary. On
motion adjourned
